Hey Guys, Welcome back to the most anticipated marketing show online, The Get A Clue Marketing Show.

Today, we’re talking about Email marketing and the fundamentals of why you need to do and the long term benefits of it. So let’s get right into it.

What is Email Marketing? It’s a marketing strategy to use for you business and brand, to give them something. That something could be a Coupon, A Discount, An Announcement, A Special Offer And Of course your insight.

Email marketing has been around since the birth of the Internet, in fact, it what started the whole web, by professors texting each via the phone lines to the computers. And when the World Wide Web began to grow, e-mail was the first form of marketing communication to another person. Remember, “You Got Mail” from AOL.  Or opening your first Hotmail account?

Believe it or not I really thought it would go out of style, with all these new marketing tactics out there, but email is still going strong. So should you focus your efforts on an email campaign for your business? The answer is YES! This is the whole foundation or beginning of Internet marketing. Back in 1997, I was taught it was all about, getting your visitors to your site and capturing their name and email, for future correspondence and hope you make a sale on the back end. It’s still true today!

I called them lead capture pages back then, now they’re called “Squeeze Pages”, I guess the term is use to Squeeze visitors into a sales funnel. A Sales Funnel is a series emails usually 5-7 in a row, to give something away, build trust and make a sale. We ll talk about that more in depth in our Ask Me segment, but up next you gotta see these stats.

[Email Marketing Facts And Stats]

“Lyris, an email marketing firm, surveyed US digital marketers with monthly email volumes of at least 50,000, and found that nearly nine in 10 were using newsletters for their email messaging campaigns.

86 percent Of Marketers used email for promotions and discounts.  76 percent of those firms used email for Free Guides Webinars,  The rest use them for free trail offers and sweepstakes.”

When they were asked what techniques their TOP Priority, it was Segmentation of  their list.  They wanted to divide up their list by targeting interests, behaviors and demographics.

One more fact, besides, email being more intimate with your audience, is 67 percent of cell phone users are always checking their phone for new email.

 [Ask Me About Email]

OK, let me finish up some other questions you might have about Email Marketing.

What are the benefits to Email Marketing? That’s a good question. The benefits are  1) Its Personal  2) Its Exclusive  3) Its Authoritative You cant get more personal than an email message to your subscribers. Your message gets Exclusive audience without distractions and it shows your Authority in your market.

Should I Buy a Huge Email List and Do a Bulk Campaign? That’s a good question, because, it seems like the fastest and easiest thing to do, but, the subscribers you get might not be who you want. Why? Because a lot of bulk lists get their subs from sweepstake and coupon offers. So unless your doing a campaign that give away offers and coupons, you wont have a quality list.  So that’s up to you.

What’s a Solo Ad? A solo ad is your message, which includes a free how to guide, free download or a special offer for your course or report. And that email is sent to Highly Targeted list owned by someone, who took the time to build the list. You pay them, anywhere from 30-40 dollars for 100 clicks (clicks are measured by an opened email.) Every email opened on that list counts as a click.

Your success depends on the targeted list, your offer and your follow up. Some marketers have made millions doing this strategy and some not so much. Anyway, that’s all the time I have, Im trying to keep this show under 10 minutes, but, there’s so much stuff to give you, it just not possible, so thanks for your time and subscribe follow and like us and spread to word to other business folks that could use some marketing advice.
